Yes, you can enter historical data for the current calendar year and the previous two calendar years. This is done through the History Screen, you will be prompted by this screen the first time you launch Above Border or you can go back to this screen at any point in time and enter your historical information for the number of days by month and year by country visited. You must enter historical data by month, highlight the month, change the month if required then move over to enter the number of days for that month, then update. If you want to delete the history for a month enter "0" in the number of days box. Many countries may fix your entry time to a specific month in the year not necessarily January 1 of the current year hence the requirement for monthly data. NOTE Historical data is not backed up to the server and must be re-entered if the APP is reloaded. This will be corrected in the next release.

Doing this will make things more efficient for you if "We Missed You". If Above Border has no record of what country you have been in for a specific day it will default to your home country. You can of course change your defaults at any time or override them on the "Missed you" Screen.

18. Why Does Above Border show me which cities I have been in?
It's important to be aware that Above Border doesn't track every city you are in as the application only checks in on you very hour or so. During each check, Above Border tracks what city, country or closest reference point you are in for your reports. We do this so that if in you need a memory jog at a future date as to where you were on a specific trip we can lend a hand. This could help if you are required to produce documentation as to your travels, at least point you in the right direction.

19. Does Above Border impact my data usage?
Yes, Above Border will use 200-400KB per day of your data plan. You can minimize this by always connecting to a WIFI network when available. In general, one should always be careful when traveling internationally as international data roaming can be very expensive. It is highly recommend that you have a suitable international data roaming plan with your carrier while you travel. You can also disable data roaming when traveling and connect to a WIFI network when available. Above Border will store your location and will update your reports when a WIFI or carrier connection is made.

20. USA Substantial Presence Test
For detailed information on this report please see our Blog on the INFO CENTER. The "Days Remaining: 183" under the test on the main report screen applies strictly to this specific test. It will only start to count down once you are in the USA for 31 days in the current year as per the test rules. The countdown will take into account the full test calculations; this may not equal 183 less the days you are in the USA for the current year. Clicking on the Substantial Test button will show you the three years and days included in the full calculation. The "Days Remaining This Year" is the amount of days you have left in the current year before you hit the 31 days mentioned above. The "Days Remaining" is the number of days left before you are considered a resident alien for tax purposes. Ok, that's confusing so read the Blog. If your home country is set to the USA then this test will not be calculated.
